Dear Molly: "If baking is any labor at all, it's a labor of love. A love that gets passed from generation to generation"

Dear Molly,

It was so nice to get a FaceTime from you while you were in ULTA. I was extremely jealous! All of that makeup through the screen that I couldn't touch, tortuous!! Since then I've been a bit busier than I was last week, probably down to the fact that I'm feeling a lot better!

When I was speaking to you on Friday, I was just about to get in the hot tub. This was lovely, but probably more disastrous than I intended it to be. For one, I somehow always manage to get my head wet and my make up runs down my face. I actually managed to keep my face dry for the duration of the hot-tubbing, until I went to help Katie put the cover back on top. She was standing on one of the seats, so I thought I'd do the same. This lead to her going "no, Amy, you don't get up here. It's an accident waiting to happen", to which I replied "I am not clumsy", which of course I am. Cue me slipping and falling back into the water and in turn injuring myself. Needless to say I was not in the best of moods when I woke up the next morning. Aches, ya know?

I went to see the Hobbit: the Battle of Five Armies on Friday. It was amazing!! Even though I've read the book, I still cried when the inevitable happened. When it comes out on DVD, I may have to subject you to a marathon of the Hobbit trilogy, followed by the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The reference to my quote this post is to do with my excitement about my rainbow cake! As you know I have to make one that is good enough for a wedding in just over a month. So I have decided to trial run it as the Christmas Cake. Which will be interesting as I've had to alter the measurements to fit a 12" tin. The most exciting thing about this is that I bought some food colouring pastes so the colours of the sponge should be extra bright! If they're not, I'm screwed. I also have to do a trial run of the chocolate cake as I need to make sure that Toby likes the chocolate sponge I use. He doesn't like my devils food cake mixed, so I have to find something a little less bitter.

Stacey and I had a meander around Wisbech yesterday, which definitely isn't as exciting as it sounds haha. I bought the TV a present in the form of Google Chromecast. Mum's threatened to take my cards away from me for about the millionth time this month. I do keep trying to reassure her that I'm going on a spending ban in the new year. I don't think she believes me... To be honest, I'm not even sure I believe me!

Hope you are well, I've loved seeing your snapchats with your family and I still can't believe that your aunt hadn't finished putting the Deckies up yet!!

Look forward to hearing from you,
Much love,

Amy
